Mapleton is located in the heart of western Iowa and is regarded as the gateway to the scenic Loess Hills. Mapleton is known for its beautiful, maple tree-lined streets, clean appearance and progressive attitude. Mapleton is the hub for a three-community school district known as Maple Valley Anthon Oto. In addition to the picturesque appearance of the community, Mapleton also offers a very complete and thriving business district with many retail businesses. Recreationally, Mapleton offers excellent hunting and fishing in the area, a new public swimming pool, a modern library, beautiful city park, active city sport programs and one of the most highly regarded nine hole golf courses in western Iowa. Mapleton offers two of the finest small community medical clinics in Iowa with state-of-the-art equipment.
But what sets Mapleton apart from other communities is it's people. The culture and personality of any town springs from it's residents. In Mapleton, a can do attitude is the basis for the solid foundation residents have built over the years. A very strong work ethic along with dependable values equip Mapleton to face any challenge.
