Rebuild and Recover Mapleton
At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Saturday evening April 9th, a tornado
hit the rural community of Mapleton, IA. It is estimated that 120 of
the 650 plus homes were destroyed and at least a dozen businesses
sustained extensive damage.
At present many volunteers are helping to reconstruct the
homes and businesses in Mapleton.

Mapleton is located in the heart of western Iowa and is regarded as the gateway to the scenic Loess Hills. Mapleton is known for its beautiful, maple tree-lined streets, clean appearance and progressive attitude. Mapleton is the hub for a three-community school district known as Maple Valley Anthon Oto.
